Rev. Lucy LaRocca



Bio: Lucy joined Zion in May 2011.  She and her husband David have been married 29 years and live in Madison. They have two young adult daughters.


Lucy’s first career was in education, teaching at risk teenagers for ten years.  She holds a master’s degree in special education from Southern Connecticut State University. She graduated in 2008 from Berkeley Divinity School, the Episcopal seminary at Yale Divinity School, with a Master of Divinity degree. She initially served as curate of Trinity Church in Branford, CT and then as Associate Rector of Trinity Church on the Green in New Haven.

Ralene Goff

Music Director


Ralene has directed music in churches for almost 20 years. She also enjoys directing musical theater both in churches and for local community groups. She is passionate about music and creative arts in worship, and loves having people of all ages share that joy with her. She is a full-time college student at University of Bridgeport finishing her Bachelor’s degree in music education. Her husband Fred also loves music and sings in local choral and opera groups.

Debbie Anderson

Parish Administrator


Bio: Debbie was born and raised in North Branford.  She has been the the parish administrator since August of 2000.  She and her husband Joe have been  parishioners of Zion since 1988.

Parish Intern 


Tom will be with the Zion community until October of 2017. 

Jane Chick

Senior Warden


Jane has been a parishioner at Zion for six years and has steadily taken on various roles within the church, including lay reader, minister of communion, Reaching Out coordinator, vestry member, and now Senior Warden. Currently she is in the second year of Education for Ministry. Previously, Jane was a long time active volunteer with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and a basketball coach for peewees for many years. She enjoys, reading, gardening, hiking and old movies. Jane currently works as a paraprofessional in the East Haven School District. Jane and her husband Dave have been married for almost 33 years and have four adult children and one grandson. They currently reside in East Haven.

Diane Iglesias

Junior Warden



The Junior Warden coordinates the maintenance and improvements to Zion buildings and grounds, including Zion Park and the Memorial Garden. Diane also serves on the Altar Guild, and is a Minister of Communion, Reader, Lay Eucharistic Visitor and a member of the Healing Prayer team. Diane is also one of Zion's delegates to convention.

Phil also sings in Zion's Choir.

Susan Wakefield

Clerk of the Vestry


Susan is a regular reader at the 8:00 a.m. liturgy and a member of the Buildings and Grounds Committee.

Nancy Fryer

Dale is active in Christian Formation for Children. She is a regular Coffee hour host who makes a mouth watering Monkey Bread.

David is also an usher at the 8:00 a.m. liturgy.

Janet is a member of the Communications Committee and assists with Zion publicity. She is active in Scouting and is a local hike leader.

Carl is also an active member of the Buildings and Grounds Committee and Leader of the Boy Scout Troop.

Lisa Latham

Lisa is also coordinator for Parish Life. She has a passion too, for Outreach and participates regularly with the Prayer Shawl group.

Susan Calamita



Susan returned to Zion's Nursery on Notch Hill as our new Director in August, 2016. She brings her business experience as an accountant, her experience in education, and her love of NONH.  

Donna Hart

Nursery on Notch Hill -Head Teacher


Bio: Donna served as the Director of Nursery on Notch Hill from 2012 to 2016. She has taught in Zion's nursery school for 18 years. 


Betsy Sachs

Bio: Ms. Betsy, a former elementary school teacher and mother of six, has been teaching at Nursery on Notch Hill for six years.
